American Accent Course overview

Learn how to master an accent with a focus on the General American accent.

On this course you will learn exactly how oral posture shapes the American accent. You'll walk away with a strong foundation of how to achieve the accent through oral posture, and how breath work can add another level of authenticity.

This course is primarily aimed at actors, particularly those wishing to perfect their accent for auditions and jobs.

Objectives of the course:

• To Fully embody an American Accent in your performance
• To Connect your body, breath and voice to the accent
• To Master the different mouth shapes of the accent
• To Avoid common accent mistakes
• To Stay in accent through your entire performance

Entry Requirements:

• Participants need to be 18+ and there is no upper age limit
• There is no upper age limit for this course. However, this is a physically demanding course. Participants must be reasonably fit.
• Fluent and confident knowledge of the English language is essential.

Venue:

There is an option to attend either an in-person or online workshop

• In-person workshop will take place at 22 Weir Road, Wimbledon SW19 8UG nearest tube Wimbledon Park Station 12 minutes walk away.
