Script and Scene Work Overview

This course is for working actors (Intermediate or Advanced) who want to continually work on perfecting their craft. We will explore scripts from plays and films every week. You'll explore different acting techniques so that you are able to make choices that are believable and authentic on stage and on camera.

This is a weekly 3 hours drop in. We keep group sizes small in order for the facilitator to give you a lot of individual feedback and encourage an intimate, friendly, and fun atmosphere in which you can learn and grow.

What we will cover::

• Explore physical, vocal and physiological choices to develop a performance that is believable, authentic, and relevant to a drama/theatre work.
• Use script analysis to generate ideas about a character.
• Examine how character relationships assist in telling the story.
• Shape character choices using given circumstances.
• Practice various acting techniques to expand skills in a drama/theatre performance.

What to bring:

• Comfortable clothing should be worn.
• Audition Material that you want to work on

Entry Requirements:

• Participants need to be 18+ and there is no upper age limit
• There is no upper age limit for this course. However, this is a physically demanding course. Participants must be reasonably fit.
• Fluent and confident knowledge of the English language is essential.

Venue:

There is an option to attend either an in-person or online workshop
